It’s a Big Win!
Chef Kyle loves to compete and we love it when he does because the food is sooo good!
On September 8th the La Prima Catering Team spent the day at Sandy Point State Park in Maryland competing in the 28th Annual Crab Soup Cook-off at the Maryland Seafood Festival.
The end of summer festival was filled with families and kids of all ages. The program included chef demonstrations, great bands, Xpogo Team performers and over 60 craft booths.
Over on the sandy beach, seagulls played with the attendees and out on the bay, wind surfers were making the most of the winds from the coming storm. And, of course, in the tent we enjoyed the competition for best crab soup in three categories – Vegetable Crab, Cream Crab and Alternative Crab. All of this made for a great day for thousands of festival goers!
In 2017 Chef Kyle won 2 awards – 1st place Judge’s Choice and 2nd place People’s choice for the Vegetarian Crab Soup. Team La Prima was super proud.
This year, Chef Kyle, outdid himself by winning four awards!! He won 1st place Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice for the Vegetarian Crab Soup. And he also won 1st place People’s Choice and 3rd place Judge’s choice for his Spicy Voo Doo Crab Soup in the Alternative category.
Wow! It was a fabulous afternoon. What will happen next year?!
