In recent weeks the world has been turned upside down. We are amid a global health crisis and many families in our community are facing economic uncertainty. School closures and stay at home orders limit traditional sources of food assistance and as employers continue to reduce payroll obligations, unemployment numbers have skyrocketed. The number of children and families who fall below Maryland self-sufficiency standards continues to increase at an alarming rate. La Prima Food Group is working with Nourish Now who is singularly focused on identifying those families hardest hit and combining resources to bring emergency food relief to those in need.
